Converting a free newspaper to a ‘go-to’ life-style resource
During 2008 and 2009 Ultra Knowledge worked with Metro UK, part of the Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT). Metro UK was our first customer to work with our newly developed SaaS delivery model.
“The increases in referral traffic, page views and session times exceeded our expectations.”(Jamie Walters, Digital Director at Metro UK)
The traditional licence model where a client bought the right to use software and then had to establish its own resources to implement and deploy that software put a massive additional burden on clients. Not only were they expected to be experts in their own business processes but also they had to establish and maintain expertise in the optimal use of complex software suites. This would often result in a high cost of acquisition and equally substantial on-going cost of ownership; with sub-optimal capability to extract the greatest benefit from the use of the software in question. Ultra Knowledge tested and refined its SaaS model with Metro UK before making it a core element in the solutions we now offer.
Also with Metro we were able to test and prove our ability to aggregate content from multiple sources and use that content to deliver an enhanced user experience.
